Outlaws Inc Slot Review & Demo Game

Outlaws Inc is a high-volatility slot from Hacksaw Gaming, and it is a textbook case of a title that lies to you before you even spin. The name and the word “outlaws” had me bracing for tumbleweed, six-shooters and a dusty Wild West showdown. What turns up instead is a gang of surly animals in crash helmets, revving engines down a graffiti-soaked back alley. Bikers, not bandits. Once you let go of the cowboy fantasy, it settles into its own thing, and that thing is all about the bonus-driven action.

The look adopts Hacksaw’s familiar style: a dark, moody backdrop cut through with neon flashes, all comic-book linework and snarling muzzles. Tone-wise, it plays for grins rather than grit, so the animal-gang premise never takes itself too seriously. You are in the wrong part of town, sure, but it is a cartoon wrong part of town where the worst that happens is a chicken in a bandana glaring at you.

Game Mechanics

Mechanically, it plays out on a 5-reel, 4-row grid with 26 fixed paylines, paying left to right from the leftmost reel when three or more matching symbols land. There is no tumble mechanic here, so wins do not cascade; you spin, you collect, you spin again.

The RTP on Outlaws Inc. isn’t fixed. It tops out around 96.23% in the most generous build, with weaker versions circulating depending on where you play, so glance at the paytable before you commit. Volatility sits at 4 out of 5, punchy without being the wildest ride in the Hacksaw garage. The max win is 10,000x the stake, and you can bet R0.10 to R100 per spin on mobile and desktop. But the bonus mechanics are what do the heavy lifting here.

Outlaws Inc Features

You meet 8 regular pay symbols in this part of town. The four low-pay items are exactly the sort of kit a bad-tempered biker keeps handy: baseball bats, brass knuckles, flick knives and a hand grenade. The four high-pay are the gang members themselves, a chicken, an eagle and two dogs. A 5-OAK line of low pays returns a slim 1x to 2x the bet, while a five-high pays line pays 5x to 20x. Not exactly retirement money on the base symbols, then, which tells you where the real action lives once the bonus features start doing the heavy lifting.

Wilds

The wild is a bright pink symbol that substitutes for all symbols except the free spins and multiplier symbols. It lands fairly often in the base game, mostly doing the quiet work of joining up paylines. Five wilds on a line will pay 20x the bet, which is as good as the top regular symbol pays.

Global Multiplier

This is the engine of the game, sitting above the reels and starting at 1x. Two symbols feed it. The purple Cougar reveals a value and adds it to the running total, with values extending up to 100x. The green Orc takes a different approach and multiplies whatever is already on the Global Multiplier by its revealed value, so it compounds rather than adds. Neither does anything on its own, mind you. You need a Gorilla to land to actually fire the multiplier, at which point any win on that spin gets multiplied. Drop more than one Gorilla, and it applies once per Gorilla in view. In practice, this matters far more once the bonus mechanics are active.

Here is the catch, and it is a big one for the base game. If a Gorilla lands but there is no win, or no Gorilla lands at all, the Global Multiplier resets to 1x. So, in normal play, those Cougars and Orcs can feel oddly inert, building a number that keeps getting wiped out before you ever cash it in. That makes the bonus round and extra spins the real places to watch.

Star Bar and Extra Spins

To the right of the reels, you will find the Star Bar. Land a Star symbol in the base game, and it awards 1 to 3 stars, each one worth a single extra spin played straight away. The useful detail is that the Global Multiplier does not reset during these extra spins, so it can actually start to climb and mean something. That is where the feature finally gets some room to breathe.

Free Spins Bonus

Land 3, 4 or 5 free spins symbols and you are into the bonus, which is where Outlaws Inc finally makes sense. The triggers award 3, 4, or 5 starting stars, along with a starting Global Multiplier of 1x, 5x, or 10x, respectively. Crucially, the multiplier no longer resets between spins, so it grows as more Cougars and Orcs arrive. Two new symbols join the party: Star Boxes, which reveal either a Star Badge worth 1 to 7 extra stars or an empty star that adds spaces to the Star Bar (up to 7), and Smile Boxes, which cough up a Cougar, an Orc or a Gorilla. A short three-spin round can stretch out considerably if the boxes are kind, and that is when the bonus really takes over.

Bonus Buy

If you’re not bothered to chase scatters, the Bonus Buy gives you three ways in. 100x the bet buys 3 stars and a 1x starting multiplier (RTP 96.33%), 200x buys 4 stars and a 5x start (RTP 96.33%), and 300x buys 5 stars and a 10x start (RTP 96.34%). The buy nudges the RTP up a hair over the standard rate. Worth noting, it is switched off in a few regulated markets such as the UK, but South African players will generally find it available. It is the quickest route straight into the bonus mechanics.

Verdict

Outlaws Inc grew on me, but only halfway. The features are all present and correct; they just feel a touch underbaked, and the base game is the main culprit. Until you trigger extra spins or the bonus, those Cougar and Orc symbols are mostly decoration, stacking a multiplier that resets before you get to use it. Write it off entirely until the free spins kick in, because that is the only time it earns its keep. And even then, watch a Gorilla land with no win attached and wipe the lot, which is as annoying as it sounds.

When it does fire, though, it can genuinely cook. The Global Multiplier reached some lofty heights in testing, the Stars in free spins pile up fast, and the 10,000x ceiling is real once a big multiplier is glowing on screen. So is it worth your dough? If you like a slow burn that pays off in the bonus and you are not put off by a quiet base game, sure. It looks the part, and it can pop. It is just a bit samey, and it sits in the shadow of the more interesting stuff Hacksaw has been turning out lately.
